Dr. Leslie Botta, DC

Dr. Botta has a BS degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, IL, and a BS and a DC degree from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL.  While at National she served as President of Chi Rho Sigma, a professional community service fraternity.  Responsibilities included organizing no less than 3 major fund raisers per year and overseeing donations of time for community work with many outside organizations.  She has been licensed to practice Chiropractic for over 15 years.  She began her chiropractic career by owning and operating her own business in Scotia, NY, learning management skills, public relations, and marketing, amongst other skills.

The honor of being the first and only Doctor of Chiropractic to ever serve as a Commissioner of the NY State Workers Compensation Board was a role she assumed in April of 1999.  In this capacity she was able to serve the citizens of NYS by broadening the knowledge of the WCB as to the benefits and the education of chiropractors, as well as other holistic healthcare practitioners. 

Just before ending his term in office, then Governor George Pataki realized a need for Dr Botta’s expertise in the Department of Health as Deputy Director of the Office of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.  Though her work at the DOH, Dr Botta was able to continue to serve New Yorkers in a larger holistic health based role by building a nationwide informational network of practitioners, educators, researchers, insurers, and many other leaders in holistic and integrated healthcare. 

Currently Dr. Botta’s professional obligations include VP and Executive Health Director for UHPA/Integrated HealthSource, (www.UnitedHPA.org), private practice in Albany, NY, Co-owner of SkeleToners TM- Offering holistic health options for Osteoporosis/Osteopenia, and serving as an Advisory Board member for Triad Healthcare, (www.triadhealthcareinc.com).  

It is this combined knowledge and experience that she brings to UHPA/Integrated HealthSource to move beyond NYS and into a national forum to further a mission that she has been following since beginning her career in the healthcare arena.
